Since the year 2015, Nivin Pauly has been regarded as a Malayalam film Superstar. When his performance in his first films, which were released in 2012, was praised, he was regarded as the most promising rising star. Rajesh Khanna, M.G. Ramachandran, Kamal Hasan, Mamooty, and Mohanlal were among his boyhood heroes. In 2003, while still in college, he had an appearance in a local album called Olive. Vineeth Sreenivasan introduced him to the film world with his directorial debut, Malarvaadi Arts Club (2010). His portrayal of a brash youth from a ragtag group of five pals earned him plaudits and critical recognition. The film remained in theatres for more than a hundred days. It was inevitable that viewers would notice him sooner or later. Following a cameo in Traffic (2011), he landed another job in The Metro, which was identical to his first (2011). His reputation skyrocketed with his smash duet with Nazariya in the album Yuuvh, then Neram, Om Shanti Oshana. In the cases of Premam, 1983, and Oru Vadakan Selfie, his versatility was praised by reviewers and audiences alike.
